HOW TO ENJOY YOUR LIFE?
Many people believe that enjoying life is a luxury they cannot afford. Some think that you have to be an actress or a book heroine to enjoy for life. Some of us think “I can’t enjoy life because I’m overworked, undervalued, always tired”. But you are wrong because…
1. Everyone can enjoy life.
The first thing to do is eliminate thinking that only some people have exclusive right to enjoy their life. That’s simply not true. Each and every one of us can enjoy life, not only people who have no worries. Well, let’s make it clear there is no person in the world who have no problems at all. There are bad things happening to all of us. The funny thing is a well known celebrity might enjoy life less than you do.
2. Look for positive inspiration.
From time to time look back and remind yourself of what used to make you happy. First of all thinking of happy moments would help you understand what makes you happy. Secondly when you think of nice moments of your past, it can make you relive them once again. Be grateful for all that happened to you and always be proud of what you have accomplished. Every day before going to sleep think of nice moments you had. You might be surprised to see how many of them you can think of.
3. Cherish the here and now.
Live in the moment. Focus on what’s here and now, especially on things that bring you joy. Enjoy the aroma of the good cup of coffee. Stop for a moment and think of the beauty of the sunset. Feel the warmth of the person beside you. Try to find joyful moments every day and celebrate it.
4. Don’t be afraid to dream.
Look forward to what may a new day bring. Don’t be afraid to dream and don’t be afraid of what can happen. Think big. Eventually you will learn how to dance and you will succeed to finish your language course. But look forward for little enjoyable moments too. Enjoy the thought of going to the cinema on the Friday evening after busy week at work or going for a walk in the forest on Saturday.
5. Don’t worry.
Of course, it is impossible not to worry about anything, but you could worry less. Unpleasant things happen – you can’t change that but you can limit the time you spend being sad about it. Don’t focus too much on negative emotions.
6. Enjoy the little things.
Life is not always about big achievements. These are little things that make our life. Enjoy them. Be happy when you feel the wind on your skin, read a book, or make a delicious pie. Appreciate little things.
7. Don’t be jealous.
Jealousy has never been good for anyone. If you focus too much on jealousy, it may destroy you. When other people succeed, it should motivate you. Try to be happy about it. Like really happy. If someone wants to share their happy moment with you, let them. It can actually make you happy too.
8. Find yourself a hobby.
It is nice to be truly passionate about something. It can help you escape an everyday life routine. I’m sure there is something you can be good at. Learn to crochet or dance or a foreign language. Start running. Make fancy desserts. Don’t let the others stop you from doing what you love. Just because people in your surrounding don’t do something it doesn’t mean you should do nothing and just sit down and wait. You have every right to do what you love.
9. Do something for yourself every day.
Usually we are so busy with all tasks and responsibilities like work, house, children. Sometimes it is even hard not to go crazy. You usually don’t have a one day only for yourself. But I am sure you can make a moment only for yourself every day. 15 minutes with a book. Going for a short walk all by yourself. Watching an episode of your favorite TV series. Your time. Only for you.
10. Enjoy your life.
How to enjoy your life? How to cherish good moments of your life? Simply start doing so. You can’t be happy when you are focusing on bad things or when you do nothing. When having doubts what to do, think of Monty Python’s song “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life”.
